I learned to see Hangzhou slowly. Through repetition, attention and everyday life.

I am Milana Mijatov, a Serbian photographer and visual storyteller living in Hangzhou, China. Photography allows me to notice the moments that might otherwise disappear — a reflection on the water, a quiet landscape, a gesture, a flower, a trace of tradition or a familiar place seen in a new way. Rather than presenting Hangzhou only as a destination, I photograph it from the perspective of someone who has gradually become part of it. Through this work, I share my personal view of the city: not only as a place, but as an experience that has become part of my life and memory.
